Dr. Ibrahim Alshaikh is an associate professor in the civil engineering department at the University of Science and Technology, Sana'a, Yemen. He holds a Ph.D. in structural engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Malaysia. He also earned his master's degree and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Science and Technology (UST), Yemen. Dr. Alshaikh's research interests focus on progressive collapse and strengthening/rehabilitation of structures, numerical analysis, AI modeling and optimization in civil engineering, and the sustainable use of waste materials in construction to address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He has been actively involved in several international research projects over the past years, from proposal writing to grant implementation, collaborating with co-authors from multiple universities. He has served as a reviewer for several reputable international journals, and he has received numerous awards for his academic excellence and contributions.
