Wind energy is one of the most viable renewable energy for future of clean energy source with full capacity of replacing non-renewable energy sources which is considered to be an obsolete source because of it negative impact to our environment. The amount of energy that is available in wind is so enormous with capability of eliminating energy deficiency of any nation if properly harnessed. Nigeria continues to face a severe electrical energy supply due to power deficiency with average national electricity generation far below estimated demand. This study experimentally assesses the under-utilization of wind energy capacity in northern Nigeria and evaluates its potential to address the country’s energy deficit. Using wind speed data and turbine performance analysis from selected high-potential sites, the research examines capacity factor, wind power density, and economic viability. Previous studies indicate that northern Nigeria possess economically viable wind resources for grid integration with promising capacity. Experimental data collected over the period of six months at 10m height showed an average wind speed of 4.19m/s and a mean wind power density of 52.1 〖W/m〗^2, with higher value recorded during the dry season months. Performance analysis of 1KW horizontal-axis wind turbine indicated a capacity factor of 19.6% and an estimated annual energy production of 858GWh of electricity annually, contributing about 2.4% to current national generation. The findings reveal that while northern Nigeria has viable wind resources, the level of deployment and utilization remains very low due to limited policy support, inadequate grid infrastructure, and lack of local capacity.

During Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) lockdown, citizens were directed to stay in door in other to break the chain of transmission of the pandemic. The only mode of communication available to the outside world during the lockdown is digital communication via telephone, computer, information communication technology (ICT) devices and other multi-media learning technologies and devices. This research’ Impact of multi-media technologies to learning on secondary education during covid-19 lockdown in selected secondary school in FCT, Abuja’ explore challenges militating against using e-learning and m-learning during COVID-19 lockdown by conducting investigative study among the students and teachers to assess their readiness to use of multi-media for teaching and learning by schools during COVID-19 lockdown. This research work is a survey research that used random sampling to obtain data from the sampled population of 225 out of the total study population of 5567 that comprises students and teachers across the nine (9) selected secondary schools with 4 publics and 5 private secondary schools in FCT, Abuja. Findings revealed that e-learning and m-learning were effectively used while m-learning was used by the majority of the students with 81.8% used it for learning. It was concluded that, the challenges that were raised need to be addressed to improve the state of learning via multi-media technologies in both private and public schools. This will in return bridge the gap between current state of things when we compare both the private and public schools in terms of multi-media facilities to deliver online and broadcasting media learning.
Adolescence is a critical stage marked by physical, emotional and social changes. The lack of accurate sex education has contributed to increased cases of teenage pregnancy, STIs and risky sexual behavior among Nigerian adolescents. This study investigates the effects of comprehensive sex education on adolescent students in selected secondary schools in Bwari Area Council, FCT Abuja. A descriptive survey design was adopted. A sample of 380 students was drawn from 4 public secondary schools using stratified random sampling. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS version 26. Findings revealed that. The study concluded that effective sex education significantly improves knowledge and promotes responsible behavior. It was recommended that the FCT Education Board should train teachers and integrate comprehensive sex education into the school curriculum. The study also found that exposure to sex education significantly influences students’ sexual behavior and promotes responsible decision-making. Major challenges identified include cultural and religious beliefs, inadequate teaching materials, lack of teacher training, and poor parental support. It was concluded that comprehensive sex education plays a vital role in equipping adolescents with accurate information and skills for making responsible choices about their sexual health. Based on the findings, it was recommended that sex education should be integrated as a compulsory subject in the school curriculum, teachers should be trained regularly, adequate instructional materials should be provided, and parents and community stakeholders should support its implementation to reduce cultural barriers.
