Abstract Diplomacy, as one of the most important instruments of foreign policy, plays a fundamental role in shaping and maintaining the balance of power within the international system. The balance of power is a core concept in international relations, referring to the distribution of power among international actors and the prevention of domination by any single power. In this context, diplomacy contributes to the establishment of international stability and security through negotiation, dialogue, alliance-building, and crisis management. This study employs a descriptive-analytical approach to examine the impact of diplomacy on the balance of power in international relations and to analyze the major challenges and opportunities associated with this role. The findings indicate that despite facing challenges such as great-power competition, increasing geopolitical tensions, and the emergence of non-state actors, diplomacy remains one of the most effective mechanisms for managing international relations and preserving the balance of power.
