The study examines the impact of educational loans on students’ career choices and financial stability. Education loans have become a key component of financing higher education for many students, as cost of tuition and related expenses continues to rise.

Kovilmala is the only existing tribal kingdom in South India which falls under the Kanchiyar grama panchayath of Idukki tehsil. Tribal women in the roles as wives, mothers and organizers occupy an economically significant place that is reflected in the generally high position and the importance that they have. The study provides insights into multidimensional role of women and extents of their empowerment within the Kovilmala tribal community. Focusing on socio-cultural, economic and political aspects, the study examines how tribal women contribute to family welfare, community development and cultural preservation. Using a qualitative research design, data was collected through questionnaires, interviews, discussions and field observations among tribal women in the community from various age groups. The findings of the study underscore the need for inclusive, culturally sensitive policies that recognize and strengthen the role of tribal women as agents of change within their communities. The paper concludes that sustainable empowerment in tribal communities must prioritize education, economic opportunities, and inclusive policy frameworks that respect tribal identity and gender equity.
